The single most important step in your skin care regime is sun protection. Make sure you put on a sunblock with an SPF 30 or higher everyday.

Sunblocks should be applied 20 minutes before going outdoors, this gives the active ingredients time to be absorbed. If sweating or toweling off reapply every 80 minutes.
UVA rays are the major cause of skin cancer, premature aging, sagging skin and hyperpigmentation; however most sunblocks only give a small amount of protection against these rays. There are only three ingredients that protect the skin from UVA radiation: Avobenzone (Parsol 1789), Titanium Dioxide, and Zinc Oxide (all are occlusive sun blocking agents). When choosing a sunblock make sure that it contains one of these ingredients. Solar Shade contains Titanium Dioxide.
Windows do not block against UVA rays, they only block the UVB rays. Always apply a sunblock before driving. Tint your car windows to the legal limit. If your desk is near a window apply a sunblock before going to work.
Wear hats with brims, they protect against 50% of the sun’s rays. Since the other 50% bounce back up off the cement, water and sand onto your face, you will still need to wear sunscreen for protection.
Avoid the sun when you are using products containing bleaching agents and/or glycolics. Your skin will be much more sensitive to the sun because the old dead layers of your skin has been removed and replaced with a new top layer.
Wear sunglasses that have 100% UV protection. Do not throw out your current sunglasses just take them to your optometrist and have your glasses treated with UV protection.

Do not SMOKE. Smoking is terrible for your skin, it depletes the body of vitamins A, C, and E; causes severe wrinkling, bags under your eyes and dark circles; and impairs the circulation of blood to the skin. After age 30 smoker’s skin shows signs of aging twice as fast as non-smoker’s skin.
Exercise, a well balanced diet and daily intake of water, are all essential elements for healthy beautiful skin.
Clean your face with a cleanser that removes make-up; such as Dual Cleanser. Never wipe off make-up because wiping pulls at the skin and promotes sagging.
It is never to late to start a daily skin care regime. The sooner you start the quicker you will see results.
