- Educate children about using sunscreens. Applying sunscreens regularly and liberally can
greatly reduce the risk of skin damage and skin cancer later in life.
- Make sure children liberally apply sunscreen every day before going outside and after
perspiring and swimming, particularly after toweling off.
- Buy sunscreens that are waterproof or water resistant and help to protect skin from the
sun's UVA and UVB (ultraviolet) rays.
- When scheduling children's outdoor activities, remember the sun is strongest from 10:00
a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
