  • Daily exposure to the sun over a lifetime is a major cause of skin damage, including wrinkling and skin cancer.
  • Any tan indicates skin damage.
  • Most peoples benefit from sunscreens with high sun protection factor (SPF) numbers, such as 15 or greater.
  • Even sunscreens with high SPF numbers provide less than full protection.
  • The worst times to be outside are between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Keep infants under six months old out of the sun.
